After talking about moving to the Bay Area for just about the last 10 years, I finally got my husband on board this year and took the plunge. I'll be leaving Chicago, my home for almost my entire adult life, after school gets out in mid June and shlepping ourselves, our child, and our belongings across the country to northern California. Yay!!! I've loved the past 9 years I've had at my current school, and I will certainly miss all of my friends and family, but I'm excited for new adventures, both personally and professionally.
Me right now
I'm a little nervous about all the relocation details and about the change in teaching assignment (middle school to high school, adjusting to a new school culture, being a newbie again), but I also can't wait to sink my teeth into those new experiences and grow, grow, grow. Now, if only I could convince someone in the Bay Area that deep dish pizza is the way to go, I'd be all set.
WOOHOO!! Please tell me your secret so I can get my wife to let us move...
ReplyDeleteUmm, continuous nagging? It took me like 10 years...
DeleteIn San Francisco, we have Paxti's, which is pretty tasty deep dish pizza!

Congrats!
ReplyDeleteNeat! We'll have to arrange a welcome party. *nods at Social Chairperson Madam Cheesemonkey*
ReplyDeleteThanks, all! Why am I not surprised that Elizabeth is the chair of the welcoming committee? I'm just looking forward to the part of the relocation when I toss my winter coat and snow boots off a pier.
